Objectives of FAAMLS:

FEDERATION OF AFRICAN ASSOCIATIONS OF MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTISTS

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the Federation shall be:

1. To afford opportunities and provide means of communication between medical laboratory scientists in the different member countries within and outside Africa
2. To encourage high professional standards in different member countries for medical laboratory scientists by:
   • Advising member countries on minimum standard of training and practice in cooperation with other International Associations
   • Raising the training and practice standards of medical laboratory scientists
   • Facilitating the exchange of manpower resources
   • Advocate for a harmonized career profile for laboratory personnel
   • Harmonize the regulatory procedure for practice of medical laboratory science
3. To promote and encourage the formation and strengthening of National Associations of Medical Laboratory Scientists and appropriate legislation
4. To encourage medical laboratory scientists within Africa to engage in research
5. To publish professional scientific journals and bulletins
6. To engage in consultancy services and any other business that the Federation may deem necessary.
